Dress
Right!
The
layering principle is the solution for anyone who enjoys, or whose
job requires, being outdoors in all kinds of weather. The principle
is based on an unlined outer garment over one or more layers of
clothing. A layer of air is thus formed between the garments, allowing
moisture to be wicked away from the skin surface.
Layered
clothing
Start with the layer closest to the body. Choose thermalwear
in Woolpower® 200 g/m2 (0.7 oz/sq. ft). In severe
cold, you can add an additional garment in 400 g/m2 (1.3 oz/sq.
ft). The outer garment should protect you from moisture and wind,
and should be breathable to prevent condensation from forming on
the inside. The Woolpower® 600 g/m2 (2 oz/sq.ft) jacket
can be worn against the body or as a supplementary garment over
Woolpower® 200 g/m2 and/or Woolpower® 400 g/m2.
**
Thermalwear in 200 g/m2 is suitable for temperatures
from +50 °F down to -4 °F, depending on the level of activity.
In lower temperatures add an additional garmet, such as a jacket
and pants in 400 g/m2.
Ventilation
Since warm air rises, proper ventilation is important. The clothes
should be designed so that they can be opened slightly at the chest,
neck and cuffs when necessary. On the other hand, if you want to
retain warmth it should be possible to close these openings and
put on a hat. Good ventilation has been a guiding principle in designing
the entire Woolpower® line.
Enjoy the comfort
We wear clothes primarily as a protective shield between our
bodies and the surrounding environment. This shield helps to regulate
our body temperature both under normal weather conditions and in
strong winds, high humidity and extreme heat or cold.
Tests
in numerous areas prove that Woolpower® feels both
warmer and less damp than any comparable thermalwear. If you dress
right, with Woolpower® next to your body and quality
outerwear on top, you have an unbeatable combination that will keep
you warm and dry in all kinds of weather. Enjoy the comfort!
