About Woolpower Fibers

Synthetics are manufactured entirely from chemical processes using oil, coal, chalk, salt, water, and chemicals which are typically mixed into a paste and then spun into fibers. These fibers deliver a fortified strand that lends durability to any fabric.

WHY SYNTHETICS IN

Synthetic fibers are good at transporting moisture, but do not provide warmth when it is cold. Synthetics, which are petroleum-based, are often strong and durable. Adding a small amount of synthetics, can addresilience and longevity. Woolpower capitalizes on these properties to create what we call the ‘supergarment’, blending natural function with man-made innovation.

Spinthetics

POLYAMIDE
Polyamide is a strong elasticized fiber with high level abrasion resistance. It absorbs little moisture and is quick drying, with good crease-resistance and stability.

ELASTANE
Elastane is used as a stretch yarn to complement other yarns. It is highly elastic – up to 700% – and gives garments excellent shape stability, fit, and stretch. It is also highly washable and withstands both heat and perspiration.

POLYESTER
Polyester is a strong elasticized fiber with good abrasion resistance. It is heat resistant, but can be heat proofed to retain its shape. It absorbs very little moisture but can also be made to transport moisture and perspiration. Garments of polyester are suitable when humidity control and good abrasion resistance is required.

ARAMIDE
Aramide fibers are highly heat-resistant and strong in nature. Ideally suited to FR clothing, these fibers do not burn, melt, or adhere to skin. Helps protect against dangers associated with electrical hazards and flash fires.
